my collection of recipes

even if no one else reads my blog, this post is important cos it's gonna help me clear a bunch of papers lying on my table ;)

Palak Chicken

0. 500g chicken fried in 100g butter til golden brown
1. 60g veg oil
2. 4g cinnamon, 2 bay leaves, (fenugreek)
3. 60g garlic paste, 40g ginger paste, 200g onion paste
4. 3g bajra powder, 100g chilli powder, 3g methi (fenugreek) powder
5. 180g tomatoes
6. 100g palak, ground and made into puree
7. 40g water
8. gravy and chicken combined
9. 3g white pepper powder
10. salt to taste

Apple Crumble

0. 2 apples cut small
1. 50g butter rubbed with 100g flour and 60g sugar into crumble
2. some sugar (and cinnamon) sprinkled onto apples
3. apples topped with crumble
4. baked at 170 degrees for 20-30min
5. served with ice cream

Chicken Fish Curry
0. 4 ladies’ finger, cut obliquely and fried well (until not sticky)
1. heat some oil and fry:
2. 1 tbsp fenugreek
3. 1 onion chopped small, 2 green chilly split
4. 1 tomato chopped
5. 2tbsp chilly powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder/aachi powder
6. ½ kg chicken
7. 1 small lemon size tamarind in hot water
8. boil until chicken is done
9. ladies’ fingers ~2min before taking the pan off the stove

Coffee Cake
0. coat pan with butter and dust with flour
1. coffee mix: 4 packets of 2 in 1 coffee powder made into coffee with 1/2 cup boiling water. leave aside to cool.
2. 200 g butter creamed (or melted if u don't have an electric whisk).
3. flour mix: 200g self-raising flour and 1/4 tsp baking soda rubbed together with 300g sugar and mixed with another 4 packets of coffee powder.
4. egg mix: 3 eggs and 3 tablespoons of yoghurt - beat together with a fork or whisk.
5. add coffee mix to butter.
6. add egg mix to flour mix.
7. add butter and coffee mix to flour mix
8. bake @ 160deg C for abt an hour
9. cool in pan for 15 min

Choc Glaze
melt and glaze 1 cup choc, 1 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp milk

Chocolate Cake
1. melt 300g choc, broken into pieces, 200g butter, cut into pieces, 125 ml water
2. rub together 170g (1 ½ cup) self-raising flour, ¼ tsp baking soda, 300g (1 ½ cup) sugar, 1tsp vanilla extract and 25g cocoa powder
3. beat 3 eggs and 75ml buttermilk/yoghurt
4. add egg to flour
5. add melted choc and butter to flour and egg
6. add choc bits, toffee bits, marshmallows, choc éclairs, mars, malteasers, etc (optional)

a start

the first day of the month, my parent's wedding anniversary, a wednesday (ask someone who knows tamil)... sounds like enough reasons for me to start sth new today.
